To make this delicious green apple smoothie wash and dry the apples. I would suggest leaving the peel on as they are rich in fiber.
Cut the apples into 1-inch cubes. Add apple chunks, frozen banana, pineapple chunks (frozen or fresh), and chia seeds to your blender.
Next, add some liquid for easy blending. In this recipe, I am using almond milk.
There is no need for ice if you are using frozen banana and frozen pineapple chunks. But if you want you can add a handful of ice cubes to make the smoothie extra thick and fluffy.
Blend until smooth and serve cold.
Notes
Soak your apples in water and baking soda solution for 15 minutes. Rub with a brush and rinse with clean warm water. Leave and dry with a kitchen towel.
If you do not have a high-speed blender, you can always peel your apples.
If your smoothie is still a bit tart and you want to add some sweetness add dates, maple syrup, or vegan honey.
I am using almond milk as a liquid in this recipe for easy blending and a smooth texture. You can also use coconut water, oat milk, coconut yogurt, pineapple juice, or even water.
To make it creamier add a tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter.
To make ahead simply freeze all ingredients in a zip lock bag. When needed leave on the shelf for 5 to 10 minutes and blend. These frozen smoothie bags can last up to six months.
